KM Coins

The monetary unit of Bosnia and Herzegovina is “convertible mark” (KM).

Convertible mark is divided into a hundred of „fenings“ (F).

The first series of KM coins in denominations of F 10, F 20 and F 50 was issued on 09 December 1998, in denominations of KM 1 and KM 2 on 31 July 2000 and in denominations of F 5 and KM 5 on 05 January 2006.

KM coins in seven different denominations are in circulation: F 5, F 10, F 20, F 50, KM 1, KM 2 and KM 5.

All the denominations of coins are issued in one design version for entire Bosnia and Herzegovina and represent the legal tender in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina puts in and withdraws from the circulation the coins of the domestic currency, convertible mark, adhering strictly to the rule of the currency board defined by the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The official exchange rate for the currency of Bosnia and Herzegovina is one convertible mark for 0,511292 euro, i.e. one euro amounts to 1,955830 convertible mark.

5 KM 5 KM

5 KM details

5 KM coin is bi-metal coin which consists of two rings: inner ring which is made of nickel-brass in golden color, while outer ring is made of copper-nickel and it is grey-colored. The edges of coin are milled. The inner ring contains the denomination of the coin, while the outer ring contains text “Bosna i Hercegovina”, written in Latin and Cyrillic script. The inner ring at the back of the coin has a “Dove of Peace” and the year of minting, while the outer ring at the back contains text “Bosna i Hercegovina”, written in Latin and Cyrillic script.

2 KM 2 KM

2 KM details

The 2 KM Bi Metal consists of an inner ring of gray cupro-nickel, the outer ring is of a golden 5.5% nickel brass combination. The edges of the coin are of a combination milled and smooth surface. The front of the coin is dominated by the denomination of the coin. The back of the coin is dominated by the left facing "Dove of Peace" placed in the exact center. Two indented and inverted triangles are placed on the top and bottom of the golden ring on both sides of the coin indicating the denomination for the sight impaired.

2 KM 2 KM

1 KM details

The 1 KM consists of a single metal of nickel-plated steel. The edges of the coin are of a combination milled and smooth surface. The front of the coin is dominated by the denomination of the coin. The back of the coin is dominated by the placement of the country's coat of arms in the center of the coin. One indented and inverted triangle has been placed on the top and bottom of both sides of the coin indicating the denomination for the sight impaired.
